Meet Our Team:
My name is Nathan, and I have been an avid reader since I was a kid. Working here was my first real job, and after a few years of moving around, I’m glad to be back. It’s always nice to sit and peruse the non-fiction section, where new viewpoints on the world present themselves. When I’m not at the bookstore or in class, I can usually be found practicing instruments or learning new languages.
Hi there, I’m Em! I love to take advantage of the deeper understanding and compassion we gain for others through reading. Knowledge is such an important driver for positive change – and what better way to learn than to cozy up with a good book! I am always excited to share recommendations for books on earth wisdom and social justice. You can find me at Bay Books when I’m not playing in the woods or experimenting in the kitchen!
Hi! My name is Skye! I’m an avid bookworm and you can find me in the fantasy or romance section. I’ve loved reading for as long as I can remember, and love to give suggestions! I’m a native Michigander and like to think I’m an old soul. I love finding new thrift stores and the hidden unique oddities. I like to think books are keys to vast worlds where you can be anyone or anything, and it’s amazing to work where you have so many magical possibilities waiting to be explored. When I’m not at Bay Books, you can find me curled up with my dogs, a good book and a warm cup of hot cocoa!
Hi fellow bookworms! After many years of vacationing in Northern Michigan with our kids, my husband and I finally succumbed to the call of the big water and moved to Suttons Bay (paradise) 7 years ago. I have been a voracious reader all my life and worked at a local library on every break during college, so working at Bay Books is an ideal fit for this semi-retired marketing exec.! I particularly enjoy reading historical fiction, contemporary fiction, mysteries and fantasy – but interested in all genres. Stop in and let’s talk books! If I’m not at Bay Books you might find me in a choir rehearsal (I sing with several choral groups through NMC), hiking, traveling or sipping some local wine.
I grew up in Toledo and have been coming to northern MI all my life, finally moving to Cedar year-round in 2010. My first summer job was in a bookstore; my first real job was as a children’s librarian, so books have been my friends forever. Working at Bay Books is just a treat ~ to be surrounded by books and talking to people about books – what could be better. When not at the bookstore you can find me hanging out with my granddaughters, playing with fiber/knitting and weaving, or reading, of course. I especially enjoy historical fiction or a good biography.
My name is Tina and every day at Bay Books, I feel so lucky to work with the best bookworms in the business. I’m a native Michigander and have beach sand in my soul and books in my heart. I also speak fluent ‘bookish’ and feel very grateful when folks let me ramble on about the many book titles we have at Bay Books. In my spare time, I hang out with my four chickens, my kitty Tigger, read, garden and whenever possible, chase solar eclipses. What do I read? EVERYTHING.
