Meet Our Team:

Hi fellow bookworms! After many years of vacationing in Northern Michigan with our kids, my husband and I finally succumbed to the call of the big water and moved to Suttons Bay (paradise) 7 years ago. I have been a voracious reader all my life and worked at a local library on every break during college, so working at Bay Books is an ideal fit for this semi-retired marketing exec.! I particularly enjoy reading historical fiction, contemporary fiction, mysteries and fantasy – but interested in all genres. Stop in and let’s talk books! If I’m not at Bay Books you might find me in a choir rehearsal (I sing with several choral groups through NMC), hiking, traveling or sipping some local wine.

I grew up in Toledo and have been coming to northern MI all my life, finally moving to Cedar year-round in 2010. My first summer job was in a bookstore; my first real job was as a children’s librarian, so books have been my friends forever. Working at Bay Books is just a treat ~ to be surrounded by books and talking to people about books – what could be better. When not at the bookstore you can find me hanging out with my granddaughters, playing with fiber/knitting and weaving, or reading, of course. I especially enjoy historical fiction or a good biography.

My name is Tina and every day at Bay Books, I feel so lucky to work with the best bookworms in the business. I’m a native Michigander and have beach sand in my soul and books in my heart. I also speak fluent ‘bookish’ and feel very grateful when folks let me ramble on about the many book titles we have at Bay Books. In my spare time, I hang out with my four chickens, my kitty Tigger, read, garden and whenever possible, chase solar eclipses. What do I read? EVERYTHING.

A (very!) recent transplant to Lake Leelanau, I decided to trade Detroit city living for the one-of-a-kind experience that is happily residing in Northern Michigan in the fall of 2025. Reading books has seen me through every different phase of my life thus far—from being Battle of the Books winner two years in a row in my elementary years, to continuously falling in love with language and graduating with my BA in French Literature from Kenyon College in 2022, to working in another wonderful independent bookstore downstate as my first job out of college. If you’re looking for recommendations on translated titles, classic fiction, philosophy, or just want to get existential in spite of it all, I’m your gal. I’m ecstatic to be the newest member of the Bay Books family—venez nous rendre visite, tout de suite!
