Described as “Bridget Jones Diary” meets “Americanah” is an understatement. That description really doesn’t do the justice that Williams puts into this novel which describes in an honest and bold manner how black women are treated in relationships and how it affects them emotionally and behaviorally. Don’t let the humor blind you to the painful realities of how society has built in prejudices that as a white person you may not recognize. With her texting posse of friends, Queenie navigates through the turmoil that has become her life at this particular point in time. Super enjoyed this.
